I Have My Period - PECS Autism Social Skills Story
As part of a new puberty series, this book tells your daughter about some of the things they will experience when they start their period. Explaining some important parts of hygiene and taking care of changing their pads and disposing of them. Also about cramps and being crabby or emotional changes.
Coping with your period as a young woman with autism can be very difficult and confusing to deal with. However, giving your child the tools and information can help so much.
IMPORTANT: This book does have some pictures included that are graphic. However, it was important in order to tell the story without leaving things out. It is important for girls to know what is going on with their body. If you have questions, please contact me.
This book has the added benefit of PECS Sentence Strips. This provides the additional benefit of attaching a picture to every word in the story. Because children with autism think in pictures, they also learn in pictures.
